Mailchimp Device Photography

As a tech company selling a digital product, Mailchimp needed device photography that was distinctly its own — not generic stock, but imagery that could hold its own in a campaign and feel like it belonged there.

Building that library took five years of aesthetic development and close collaboration with a lead designer across shot lists, photographer selection, and art direction spanning lifestyle, product-focused, and in-use scenarios.

The integration challenge was the hardest part. We proved the concept by building device photography into Fictitious Brands shot lists first — once designers and creative leadership saw how it completed each brand's narrative, it became standard on every production.

The library grew to 150+ images across seven productions, serving as core product imagery across Mailchimp's marketing channels from 2020 to 2025.
