Escultura is Mailchimp's fine art eyewear brand — elevated, artistic, contemporary.
As Art Director of Photography, I led the visual direction for a studio shoot designed to feel more editorial fashion than tech marketing. It became one of the most frequently pulled libraries among Mailchimp designers, offering a sharp contrast to the brand's more lifestyle-driven identities.
We commissioned original sculpture for the set because the brand needed to feel like it already existed in the art world. We shot in an art gallery environment with custom sculptures commissioned specifically for the production, creating a backdrop that felt genuinely art-world.
The biggest creative challenge was the eyewear itself. To avoid copyright infringement, we purchased generic frames and reshaped them in post — a solution that required close collaboration between on-set photography and retouching so the final eyewear looked sophisticated and modern.
